The annual KAYB Father's Day Tournament is played
at the Kennewick American Youth Baseball Complex

Northwest.

TOURNAMENT BLOG
Saturday, 6/13, 7:33pm: It was a great game between Kennewick
American All Stars and Wenatchee at the 11-year-old level. Both teams
played a great game, however in the end, Wenatchee emerged with the 7-5
victory over Kennewick American. Congratulations to both teams for
playing a great game and to Wenatchee for earning the hard-fought win.
The 10U bracket is complete and has been posted. Richland National
finished with the #1 seed overall, just behind Eastmont who allowed one
more run to break the tie. The quarterfinals begin at 8am, the semis at
10:15am and the Championship at 2:45pm. Based on your votes, the
Kennewick American All Stars are favored to win, however they will have
to battle through three games to do so.
Saturday, 6/13, 12:52pm: Check
out the 11U bracket. This evening's 5pm
game on Field 1 features two undefeated teams whose defense has won
them two games. Kennewick American All Stars are 2-0 with 3 runs
allowed in two games. They will face Wenatchee who is also 2-0 with 4
runs allowed in two games. The battle for the numer 1 seed overall is
at stake in this game.
Saturday, 6/13, 11:54am: In
theory, it was a good idea. But,
practically it didn't work so well. As you can see from this page, we
have removed the game summary sheet PDF links from the site. We are
having issues with coaches not turning in the summary sheets and the
information contained on them not being accurate and matching what the
other team has provided. The tournament brackets are still being
updated with scores so you can follow the tournament in that manner.
Friday, 6/13, 3:46pm: Despite it
being Friday the 13th, its been a
good day of baseball so far. The weather is holding and the temps are
in the low 80s right now, which is perfect baseball weather. The
Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Tri-Cities has donated 2-liter
bottles of Coke to be given away to anyone who hits a home run during
the tournament. We ordered 12 bottes, however we might need to get more
as we have already given away four and we've only played a handful of
games.
Thursday, 6/12, 7:56pm: Game
scores and summary sheets are starting
to come in from the coaches now. We rely on the coaches and scorers to
turn in game summary sheets as soon as the game is over so we can post
the scores in a timely manner. New this year, we are going to post game
summaries for as many games as we can. This will allow you to see the
battery, score by inning, pitchers and game highlights. Its a new
feature we think will be welcomed by those who frequent this site over
the weekend.
Thursday, 6/12, 1:00pm: Welcome to the 2008 KAYB Father's Day
tournament. Please check back often for the latest scores and standings
as well as fun multimedia content we will add throughout the weekend.
We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding over the
last several days. Due to storms this winter, the Kennewick School
District's last day of school is Monday, June 16th. Typically school is
already out when we begin to play this tournament. Due to the lack of
being able to play games all day on Friday as we typically do and not
being able to use Canyon View's field during the school day on Friday,
we made multiple changes to the schedule and we know that frustrated
some. Hopefully, all that is ironed out and behind us and we can look
forward to a great weekend of baseball.
